Privacy Policy

ScreenWell was built with a simple principle: your data stays on your device. This page explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and how to contact us with any questions.
Who we are
ScreenWell is made by Ganesh, an independent developer based in India. You can reach us at support@getscreenwell.com.
What we collect
Nothing, for most users
All of ScreenWell's core features — Kid Mode, Daily Limits, Focus Sessions, Schedule Blocks, and the Reels blocker — work entirely on your device. The app tracks which apps are open and for how long, but that information never leaves your phone. We do not see it, store it, or send it anywhere.
Your settings (time limits, selected apps, your PIN, schedules) are saved locally on your device only.
If you create an account
Creating an account is just formality and only needed for Coins and Streaks now. If you sign up, we collect your email address to identify your account. We use Supabase to handle sign-in securely — you can read their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
We also record a timestamp each time you open the app (no more than once every two hours) to measure how frequently our users engage with the product. This is used solely for internal analytics — to understand user engagement patterns and improve the app — and is not shared with third parties.
Why the app needs certain permissions
ScreenWell asks for three Android permissions that are worth explaining:
Accessibility Service
This is how the app knows which app is on screen so it can enforce time limits and show the block overlay when time is up. The Accessibility Service is used solely to detect which app is in the foreground — it does not read, record, or transmit anything displayed on your screen. This data is processed on-device only and never leaves your phone.
Usage Stats
This lets the app see how long each app has been used today, so it can enforce your daily time limits accurately. This data stays on your device.
Display Over Other Apps
This allows the app to show a full-screen block when a time limit is reached — the overlay that appears on top of whatever your child was using. Without this, enforcement would only be a notification that can be dismissed.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not track your browsing or read what is on your screen.
- We do not share your information with third parties except Supabase (for account sign-in and activity data storage).
Data retention
If you create an account, we store your email address and app activity timestamps for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your email address and all associated data are permanently removed instantly.
Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your account information. Supabase handles authentication using encrypted connections. Local data on your device is protected by Android's standard app sandboxing. We do not collect crash reports, diagnostics, or device identifiers, and we do not serve advertisements or use advertising identifiers (GAID).
Children
ScreenWell is a tool for parents, used on a parent's device. Children do not create accounts or interact with the app's settings — they only see the enforcement overlay when their time is up. We do not collect any data from children. We do not sell personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Your rights
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getscreenwell.com and we will respond promptly.
Deleting your data
If you uninstall the app, all local settings are removed from your device. If you created an account and want it deleted, you can delete it directly from the app. Your account and associated data are removed immediately upon deletion. If you need assistance, email us at support@getscreenwell.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make any significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the app after notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
