Make sure three permissions are all granted: Accessibility Service, Display Over Other Apps, and Battery Optimization exemption. Go to Android Settings, find ScreenWell under Apps, and check each one. The battery exemption is the most commonly missed — without it, Android can shut down the app before the overlay fires.

Check that the Accessibility Service is enabled for ScreenWell (Settings → Accessibility → Installed services → ScreenWell → ON) and that you have selected the correct apps inside Kid Mode settings. If it is enabled but still not blocking, disable battery optimization for ScreenWell and restart your phone.

Turn on the Keep Kid Mode Always On toggle inside Kid Mode settings. Without it, each session is a one-time countdown that you start manually. With it on, time accumulates across every app open and resets automatically when the limit is reached — no action needed from you.

Tap the top-right corner of the screen 3 times quickly, then enter your parent PIN or use biometrics. If you enabled auto-dismiss, the screen will also clear itself after the number of minutes you set.

The block screen runs as a system overlay — it cannot be dismissed without your PIN or biometric. A determined child might force-restart the phone by holding the power button. We recommend enabling auto-dismiss as a safety fallback so the phone does not stay locked if this happens.
